I bought these sunglasses in December on a ski trip to Mammoth Lakes, CA. Although I did not wear them skiing (I prefer goggles on the slopes) I wore them all around town and have been wearing them ever since.

Quality / Finish
The Kaenon UPD have a sporty look yet they are still stylish for everyday wear. The frame color is brown tortoise. This style is not specific for women, yet they do fit my face very well. The frame has a nice smooth shape and finish without any grooves or grips above the nose or ears. I particularly like that about this style; I’ll talk about that more in the comfort section.

Durability
The frames feel sturdy and durable. I dropped them once and nothing seemed to be affected. That is a big plus for me, I tend to drop everything. I would consider them to be hard framed, but not rigid. The frames are not entirely bendable, but they do give when they need to.

Comfort / Wearability
The first time I put these sunglasses on they felt very comfortable. The nose piece was nice and smooth with no grips and fit wonderfully. The arms do not have any bends for the top of the ears which seems to be fine for me since normally the bend is never quite in the right place for my ears. They are not heavy, yet they feel sturdy like a good quality pair of sunglasses that are not going to fly off in the wind.

My only problem with the UPD is that after wearing them for 2 hours straight, the tops of my ears start to get sore where the arms rest. Personally as long as I do not have to wear them for hours on end I am fine.

Tint - Visibility
I love these lenses. The lenses are polarized and are the perfect color of tint, not too light or too dark. They are made from Kaenon’s SR-91 material. I have worn them on very sunny days and also in periods of overcast weather, and I did not feel the need to take them off. Being polarized, they also cut the glare perfectly. You have wonderful visibility with these lenses, nothing is distorted and colors appear to be true.

Peripheral Vision
The frames are curved to form to your face. That coupled with the quality of lenses and polarization make the peripheral vision exceptional. The arms are not wide and the lenses slope down to meet the frame so that you can see peripherally without any trouble. Changing lanes while driving is never a problem.

Lens Coverage
As I mentioned, the frames and lenses are curved to fit your face. I do not feel any sunlight is sneaking in on the sides of my head or obstructing my peripheral vision. These sunglasses have great coverage.

Accessories
I love the orange zippered case that the Kaenon’s come in. It’s a fun color and easy to find in your purse; if you have a large purse like mine. The case is cloth covered with a zipper closure, and has a clip on the end that you can use to secure to your backpack, purse, belt loops etc. A black lens cloth is included with the case.

Conclusion
These are a great pair of sunglasses. I wore them for most of my trip to Hawaii a few months ago and they fared beautifully. They were great at the beach and the pool since they cut out nearly all of the glare. The lenses clean up well which I find is not always the case with some lens coatings. I appreciate that I could rinse them and wipe any residue away and they never smudged or smeared. I would definitely recommend these sunglasses to anyone.
